About Better Pueblo: Its Commitment and Goals
Better Pueblo is a network of people committed to quality of life in the greater Pueblo area. Most of the members of the network are from other area organizations or businesses with backgrounds and interest in agriculture, business, economics, environment, labor, public health, and religion. As members of the network, we have children, families, and homes in the area. We have businesses or farms that operate here. We have other organizations that we work with that share the goals of the network.Currently, this shared commitment has directed the network to work on issues involving environmental justice, worker rights and safety, clean air and water, public health, and healthy & sustainable agriculture. The group also focuses on public policy and public policymakers to promote decisions that are better for Pueblo and the surrounding communities.
Better Pueblo’s goal is to provide the best information available to the people of the area on important issues that have a potential impact on them and their community. That’s about it.
Many of the members of the network work with one or more of the following:
- Boone-Avondale Citizens Alliance
- Citizens for Clean Air and Water in Pueblo and Southern Colorado
- Diocese of Pueblo Office for Social Justice
